What is Top Nutrition Coaching?

Top Nutrition Coaching is a nationwide virtual nutrition practice that connects patients with Registered Dietitians and licensed medical providers for personalized nutrition counseling and medically supervised weight management. We offer both insurance and self-pay nutrition services, as well as our GLP-1 Weight Management Program.


How does Top Nutrition Coaching work?

Getting started is easy:

  1. Complete our online intake questionnaire.
  2. We'll match you with a provider based on your needs, state, and insurance (if applicable).
  3. Create your secure client portal account.
  4. Schedule your first appointment.
  5. Meet virtually with your provider and receive a personalized care plan.

What programs do you offer?

We offer a variety of personalized programs, including:

Do you offer a GLP-1 Weight Management Program?

Yes! Top Nutrition Coaching offers a medically supervised GLP-1 Weight Management Program that combines medication management with personalized nutrition coaching from Registered Dietitians.

We offer several membership options depending on whether you're new to Top Nutrition Coaching or already working with one of our Registered Dietitians.

Is everything virtual?

Yes. All appointments are completed securely through our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.


Do I need a referral?

Most patients do not need a referral. However, some insurance plans may require one. Our Insurance Team will let you know during the benefits verification process if one is needed.


Appointments

What happens during my first appointment?

Your provider will:

  • Review your health history
  • Discuss your goals
  • Review your intake forms
  • Answer any questions
  • Develop a personalized nutrition or treatment plan
  • Recommend follow-up care

How long are appointments?

Appointment length depends on your program.

Self-Pay Nutrition Memberships

  • Weekly Membership: 30-minute follow-up appointments
  • Bi-Weekly Membership: 45-minute follow-up appointments
  • Monthly Membership: 60-minute follow-up appointments

Insurance Nutrition Counseling

Initial appointments are typically 60–90 minutes.

Follow-up appointment length and frequency are determined by your verified insurance benefits.


How often should I see my provider?

Your provider will recommend a schedule based on your health goals.

Common appointment schedules include:

  • Weekly
  • Every other week
  • Monthly

Can I choose my provider?

Yes. During the intake process, we'll recommend providers based on:

  • State licensure
  • Specialty
  • Insurance participation
  • Availability

If you'd prefer another provider, our Support Team is happy to help.


Can I switch providers?

Absolutely.

If you'd like to work with a different provider, simply contact Customer Support and we'll help coordinate the transition.


Insurance

Do you accept insurance?

Yes.

We accept many commercial insurance plans across the United States.

Coverage varies by insurance carrier and individual plan.


How do I know if my insurance is covered?

After submitting your insurance information, our team verifies your benefits before your first appointment.

We'll notify you of:

  • Covered services
  • Expected patient responsibility
  • Copays
  • Deductibles
  • Coinsurance
  • Visit limitations (if applicable)

How long does insurance verification take?

Insurance verification is typically completed within 4 business days after all required insurance information has been received.


What if my insurance isn't accepted?

You can still receive care through one of our self-pay nutrition memberships or GLP-1 self-pay programs.


Will I owe anything after insurance?

Possibly.

Depending on your insurance plan, you may be responsible for:

  • Copays
  • Coinsurance
  • Deductibles
  • Non-covered services

These costs are determined by your insurance company.


Self-Pay Memberships

What self-pay nutrition memberships do you offer?

We currently offer:

  • Weekly Membership
  • Bi-Weekly Membership
  • Monthly Membership

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes.

Memberships may be canceled at any time. Benefits remain active through the end of your current billing cycle.


Scheduling

How do I schedule appointments?

Appointments can be scheduled through your secure client portal once appointment credits become available.


Can I reschedule an appointment?

Yes.

Appointments may be rescheduled directly through the client portal as long as they are outside the cancellation window.


What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments canceled within 12 hours of the scheduled appointment are considered late cancellations.

Late cancellations and no-shows may result in the appointment credit being forfeited or billed according to your insurance or membership policy.


What happens if I miss my appointment?

Missed appointments (no-shows) may count as a completed visit depending on your insurance benefits or membership.


Billing & Payments

When am I charged?

Self-Pay Memberships

Memberships renew automatically based on your billing cycle.

Insurance Patients

Insurance claims are submitted after your appointment. Any patient responsibility determined by your insurance company will be billed afterward.


Do I need a credit card on file?

Yes.

All patients must maintain a valid payment method on file for membership charges or any insurance patient responsibility.


Can I use my HSA or FSA?

In many cases, yes.

Most HSA and FSA cards can be used for eligible nutrition counseling services.


Registered Dietitians

What can a Registered Dietitian help me with?

Yes.

Secure messaging is available directly through the client portal.
